Illustrative location only. Grid position, bonding and layer thicknesses are determined by the pavement design.
03 / DESIGN CONTEXT

SPECIFY THE SYSTEM,
AS WELL AS THE GRID.

The 92 kN/m product rating is not a pavement design capacity. The design also depends on the grid’s interaction with adjacent materials, bond, loading, environment and construction sequence.

  • Confirm tensile method, test direction and characteristic values.
  • Obtain coating and durability data for the actual exposure.
  • Specify grid position, fixing, laps and bonding requirements.
  • Check construction tolerances and the acceptance test programme.

MIX GUIDANCE.

Application-specific dosage guidelines / replacement flyer, page 2
ApplicationGuideline dosage
Residential concrete floors1.5 to 2.5 kg/m³
Industrial floors2.5 to 4.0 kg/m³
Warehouse slabs3.0 to 5.0 kg/m³
Concrete pavements3.0 to 6.0 kg/m³
Thin concrete roads4.0 to 6.0 kg/m³
Precast elements2.0 to 4.0 kg/m³
Asphalt mixes3 to 5 kg per tonne of asphalt

These are the flyer’s detailed table values. Its combined industrial and warehouse summary gives a broader range; use the separate application rows above. Final dosage is subject to mix design and the engineer’s specification. Confirm through project-specific mix trials.

05 / MATERIAL TAKE-OFF

ESTIMATE YOUR QUANTITIES.

Calculate nominal mesh roll requirements or fibre mass from your own area, mix quantity and dosage inputs.

MATERIAL TAKE-OFF / PRELIMINARY ESTIMATE

Nominal roll area: 2.95 m × 100 m = 295 m². Enter the allowance for your laying plan. The default 10% is a budgeting assumption.

ESTIMATED ROLL REQUIREMENT4rolls

1 100 m² including allowance. Rounded up to whole rolls.

Quantity estimate only. Does not calculate structural capacity, pavement thickness, reinforcement equivalence or a suitable fibre dosage.

06 / SUPPORTING INFORMATION

DATA FOR THE
PROJECT FILE.

Request the applicable product certificate, test methods, durability information and installation or mixing guidance from BasaltechSA.

PRODUCT DISTINCTION

Mesh, chopped fibre and rigid BFRP bars are different material forms. Standards, test results and structural design provisions should not be transferred between them without a justified assessment.
